About the Design

This rug features an impressive asymmetrical gradient that spreads like rising smoke. The nuanced expressions woven from the pale colors change depending on the viewing angle and lighting, adding a subtle accent to the space. Because it is not symmetrical, simply changing the direction you lay it can change the appearance of the room. In addition to rectangles, we also offer organically shaped pebble forms. The pattern will vary with each weaving.

About this Color

MANAS rugs do not have color names and are managed by product number. 6747 features sage green and ivory spreading like smoke. It is the only chromatic color among the three, and it doesn't stand out against white walls. Shemini is available in three colors: 6727, 6747, and 9332. Please check the photos for the actual colors.

How to Choose Size and Shape

A 160 x 230 cm rug is suitable for a living room of about 6 tatami mats, placed in front of a sofa with its front legs on the rug. For a 2- to 2.5-seater sofa, the short side of the rug will be roughly aligned with the sofa width, creating a cohesive look. A 200 x 290 cm rug is suitable for about 8 tatami mats, or when you want to place both the sofa and low table within the rug. A 133 x 195 cm rug fits in places where you want to place only a part of the furniture, such as beside a bed, in a study, or in the center of a studio apartment. The pebble shape has an organic outline, so there's no need to align it with walls or furniture lines. It can fit better than a rectangle in nearly square rooms or layouts where furniture is not placed against the wall. Sizes are 160 x 230 cm / 200 x 290 cm. For dining use, estimate the size by adding 80 cm to each side of the table width to prevent chair back legs from falling off when pulled out. In a bedroom, a good way to lay it is to tuck the short side of the rug under the foot of the bed, with about a third of it under the bed.

Material and Weave

The material is 100% polypropylene. The pile height is 25mm. It is thick and has a feel that allows you to sit directly on the floor. It is more suitable for places where you relax, such as in front of a sofa or by a bed, rather than areas where dining chairs are frequently moved. Please use a vacuum cleaner with reduced suction. The weave is Wilton weave, a manufacturing method where pile yarns are woven into the base fabric. The density is 3200 g/m², and a 160 x 230 cm rug weighs approximately 11.8 kg. This is among the denser rugs in this collection (2,650-3,300 g/m²), so you can easily feel its resilience when stepped on. It is fire-retardant and can be used over floor heating and hot carpets. The country of origin is Belgium.

＜Delivery＞
Rugs are not eligible for free shipping. A shipping fee of ¥5,500 will be charged.
Products will be delivered with an instruction manual, rolled and shrink-wrapped in plastic. Approximate packaging dimensions are: 133×195cm will be approx. 15cm diameter × 145cm length; 160×230cm will be approx. 20cm diameter × 170cm length; 200×290cm will be approx. 30cm diameter × 210cm length (dimensions may vary slightly by product). Pebble shapes will have the same packaging dimensions as rectangular rugs of the same size.
Delivery will be by Sagawa Express courier service. Delivery will be to your doorstep or entrance. Drivers will not carry items indoors or install them.
As products are shipped directly from the manufacturer's warehouse, we cannot accommodate specific delivery dates or times.
We do not deliver to Okinawa Prefecture or some remote islands.
For the 200×290cm size in particular, the package length exceeds 2m, so please check your delivery route (elevator, stairs, entrance width) in advance.

＜Please check immediately after delivery＞
・Before use, please check that the product number, color number, and size are correct, and that there is no damage from transportation.
・Please unpack the product promptly after delivery. Do not store it in a sealed state.
・When unpacking, please be careful not to damage the product with cutters or other sharp objects.
・Do not store vertically or stack. This may cause creases or deformation.

＜Returns and Exchanges＞
・We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer convenience.
・We cannot accept returns or exchanges for products after use.
・If the delivered product is defective or damaged during transportation, please check its condition immediately after unpacking and contact us promptly (no later than 5 days after product arrival).
・Rugs are not manufactured by our company. After you contact us, we will confirm the condition, send the actual product to the manufacturer for inspection, and then discuss whether an exchange or return is possible. The longer the time that passes, the more difficult it becomes to determine if the damage occurred during transport, so please contact us as soon as possible.

＜Before Laying＞
・When laying a rug, please clean the floor surface beforehand.
・After waxing or wet-wiping the floor, please lay the rug only after the floor surface is completely dry. If not sufficiently dry, rug marks may remain on the flooring material.
・On slippery floor surfaces such as wooden flooring, we recommend using commercially available non-slip sheets. The rug may slip and cause falls if simply laid without any anti-slip measures.
・Using the rug while it is creased or wrinkled may cause tripping hazards and falls.

＜Regarding Size and Color＞
・Due to the nature of the product, there may be an error of approximately ±3% in the finished dimensions.
・The actual product's color and texture may differ from the published photos due to differences in computer or smartphone monitors viewed by the customer, as well as shooting conditions.
・The pattern's appearance and visibility vary with each weaving. The same pattern may not appear in the exact same position as in the published photos.

＜What Happens with Use＞
・Immediately after delivery, some curling may remain. It will gradually settle and disappear after a few weeks of use.
・If heavy objects such as furniture are left on the rug for a long period, the pile may be crushed and flattened (crushing). This is more likely to occur when strong localized pressure is applied.
・Rugs using cut pile may experience partial disturbance in the direction of the pile during use, appearing as cloud-like color unevenness (clouding phenomenon). This is a characteristic of cut pile and is not a defect in quality.

＜Care and Storage＞
・If a pile (yarn) protrudes, do not pull it forcefully; carefully cut it from the base with scissors.
・When storing, roll the rug into a cylinder to prevent creases and wrinkles, lay it flat, and avoid placing heavy objects on top of it.

＜Usage Precautions＞
・Use in direct sunlight may accelerate surface fading and deterioration of the backing. Please take measures to block sunlight with curtains or blinds.
・Please note that using rubber covers on furniture legs may react with rug components, causing discoloration or color transfer.
・Localized pressure from table legs, etc., may leave indentations. Rotating the rug occasionally will make these less noticeable.
・When moving heavy furniture with casters or pianos over the rug, always place plywood or thick cardboard underneath to protect the rug.
・Direct spraying of insecticides, disinfectants, hypochlorous acid, etc., may cause discoloration or hardening of the rug, so please refrain from doing so. Even when spraying onto a cloth before use, always test on an inconspicuous area first.
