About the Design

This rug features impressive gentle lines, as if looking down at the earth from above. Its organic form, reminiscent of winding rivers and flowing topography, creates a quiet sense of movement and depth in a space. The soft, neutral gradient naturally blends with a variety of interiors. Its smooth, gentle texture provides a comfortable feeling underfoot. The name Méandre is French for meandering river. The pattern will vary slightly with each weave.

About This Color

MANAS rugs do not have color names; they are managed by product number. 6191 features very faint, monochromatic lines on an off-white ground. Of the two colors, this is the lighter one, appearing more like an engraving than a pattern. Méandre is available in two colors: 2383 and 6191. Please refer to the photos for the actual colors.

How to Choose Size and Shape

A 160 x 230 cm rug is suitable for a living room of about 6 tatami mats, placed in front of a sofa with the front legs on the rug. For a 2 to 2.5-seater sofa, the short side of the rug will be almost aligned with the width of the sofa, creating a cohesive look. A 200 x 290 cm rug is suitable for a room of about 8 tatami mats, or when you want to place both the sofa and a low table within the rug. When used in a dining room, as a guide, choose a size that adds 80 cm to each side of the table width to prevent the back legs of chairs from falling off when pulled out. In a bedroom, a layout where the short side of the rug is tucked under the foot of the bed, with about a third of it under the bed, fits well.

The material is 100% polyester (90% recycled yarn). The pile height is 25mm. It is thick and comfortable enough to sit directly on the floor. It is more suitable for places where you relax, such as in front of a sofa or by a bedside, rather than areas where dining chairs are frequently moved. When vacuuming, use a low suction setting. The weave is Wilton. This is a method where pile threads are woven into the base fabric. The pile weight is 3300g/㎡, and a 160 x 230 cm rug weighs approximately 12.1 kg. This is among the denser rugs in this collection (2,650-3,300g/㎡), offering a noticeable springiness when stepped on. The pile uses recycled yarn. It is fire-retardant and can be used with underfloor heating and hot carpets. The country of origin is Belgium.

＜Delivery＞
Rugs are not eligible for free shipping. A shipping fee of 5,500 JPY will be charged.
Products will be delivered with an instruction manual and individually wrapped in plastic film in a cylindrical shape. The approximate packaging sizes are as follows: 133 x 195 cm will be approximately 15 cm in diameter x 145 cm in length; 160 x 230 cm will be approximately 20 cm in diameter x 170 cm in length; and 200 x 290 cm will be approximately 30 cm in diameter x 210 cm in length (these dimensions may vary slightly depending on the product).
Delivery will be made by Sagawa Express courier service. Delivery will be to your doorstep or entrance. Drivers will not carry items inside your home or install them.
As products are shipped directly from the manufacturer's warehouse, we cannot accommodate specific delivery dates or times.
Delivery to Okinawa Prefecture and some remote islands is not available.
For the 200 x 290 cm size in particular, the package length exceeds 2 meters, so please check your搬入経路 (entrance route, e.g., elevator, stairs, doorway width) in advance.

＜Please check immediately upon delivery＞
・Before use, please ensure that the product number, color number, and size are correct, and that there is no damage from transportation.
・Please unpackage the product promptly after delivery. Do not store it in a sealed condition.
・When unpackaging, please be careful not to damage the product with cutters or other sharp objects.
・Do not store the rug vertically or stacked, as this may cause creases or deformation.

＜Returns and Exchanges＞
・We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer convenience.
・We cannot accept returns or exchanges for products that have been used.
・If the delivered product is defective or damaged during transportation, please check its condition immediately after unboxing and contact us promptly (no later than 5 days after product arrival).
・Rugs are not manufactured by our company. After you contact us, we will confirm the condition, send the actual product to the manufacturer for inspection, and then discuss whether an exchange or return is possible. The longer the time passes, the more difficult it becomes to determine if the damage occurred during transportation, so please contact us as soon as possible.

＜Before Laying＞
・When laying the rug, please clean the floor surface beforehand.
・After waxing or wet-wiping the floor, please wait until the floor surface is completely dry before laying the rug. Insufficient drying may leave rug marks on the flooring material.
・On slippery floor surfaces such as hardwood, we recommend using commercially available non-slip sheets or similar products. Leaving the rug unfixed may cause it to slip and lead to falls.
・Using the rug while it is folded or wrinkled may cause tripping hazards and falls.

＜About Size and Color＞
・Due to the nature of the product, there may be an error of approximately ±3% in the finished dimensions.
・The color and texture of the actual product may differ from the published photos due to differences in computer or smartphone monitors viewed by the customer, as well as shooting conditions.
・The appearance and positioning of patterns may vary with each weave. The same pattern may not appear in the same position as in the published photos.

＜What Happens with Use＞
・Immediately after delivery, the rug may retain some curling from being rolled. This will gradually settle and disappear after a few weeks of use.
・If heavy objects such as furniture are left on the rug for a long period, the pile may be crushed and flattened (crushing). This is more likely to occur when strong localized pressure is applied.
・Rugs with cut piles may experience a phenomenon where the direction of the pile nap becomes partially uneven during use, appearing as cloud-like color variations (clouding phenomenon). This is a characteristic of cut pile and does not indicate a quality defect.

＜Care and Storage＞
・If a pile (fiber) pops out, do not pull it forcibly. Carefully cut it from the base with scissors.
・When storing, roll the rug into a cylinder to prevent creases and wrinkles, lay it flat, and avoid placing heavy objects on top of it.

＜Precautions for Use＞
・Using the rug in direct sunlight may accelerate surface fading and deterioration of the backing. Please use curtains or blinds to shield it from the sun.
・Please note that using rubber covers or similar items on furniture legs may react with rug components and cause discoloration or color transfer.
・Localized pressure from table legs or similar objects may leave indentations. Rotating the rug occasionally can make these less noticeable.
・When moving pianos or heavy furniture with casters over the rug, always place plywood or thick cardboard underneath to protect the rug.
・Direct spraying of insecticides, disinfectants, hypochlorous acid, etc., may cause discoloration or hardening of the rug, so please refrain from doing so. If you use such products by spraying them on a cloth first, always test them on an inconspicuous area beforehand.
