About the Design

The randomly intersecting three-dimensional stitch pattern creates a contemporary impression. Rather than creating a pattern with color, lines are drawn by differences in weave height, making it appear almost plain from a distance. As you get closer, the intersecting lines emerge, and the shadows change depending on the direction of the light. This rug is a good fit for those who find solid colors uninspiring but want to avoid patterns. The pattern will vary slightly with each weave.

About This Color

MANAS rugs do not have color names and are managed by product numbers. 2131 features charcoal stitches intersecting on a light gray to off-white ground. This is the lighter and cooler of the two colors, ideal for creating a continuous look with white walls or light floors. In rooms with dark furniture, the bright floor prevents the overall visual weight from sinking. Ant is available in two colors: 2131 and 7131. Please confirm the actual color in the photos.

How to Choose Size and Shape

The 160 x 230 cm size is suitable for living rooms of approximately 6 tatami mats, placed in front of a sofa with the front legs on the rug. For a 2 to 2.5-seater sofa, the short side of the rug will be almost aligned with the sofa width, creating a cohesive look. The 200 x 290 cm size is for rooms of approximately 8 tatami mats, or when you want to place both the sofa and coffee table within the rug. For dining areas, to prevent chair legs from falling off when pulled out, aim for a size that adds 80 cm to each side of the table width. In bedrooms, a good placement is to tuck the short side of the rug under the foot of the bed, placing about one-third of the rug under the bed.

Material and Weave

The material is 50% polyester and 50% polypropylene. The pile height is 9mm. This is the lowest pile in this collection, giving the surface a taut appearance. It prevents dining chair legs from getting caught and is easy to vacuum. The weave is Wilton. This manufacturing method involves weaving pile yarns into the base fabric. The density is 2650g/㎡, with the 160 x 230 cm rug weighing approximately 9.8 kg. This is on the lighter side within this collection (2,650 to 3,300g/㎡), making it suitable if ease of handling is a priority. It is flame-retardant and can be used with floor heating and hot carpets. The country of origin is Belgium.

＜Delivery＞
Rugs are not eligible for free shipping. A shipping fee of 5,500 yen will be charged.
Products will be delivered with an instruction manual and individually wrapped in plastic in a cylindrical shape. The approximate packaging dimensions are: 133 x 195 cm will be approximately 15 cm in diameter x 145 cm in length; 160 x 230 cm will be approximately 20 cm in diameter x 170 cm in length; and 200 x 290 cm will be approximately 30 cm in diameter x 210 cm in length (these dimensions may vary slightly depending on the product).
Delivery will be made by Sagawa Express courier service. Delivery will be to the entrance of your home or building. Drivers will not carry items indoors or install them.
Since products are shipped directly from the manufacturer's warehouse, we cannot accommodate specific delivery dates or times.
We do not ship to Okinawa Prefecture or some remote islands.
For the 200 x 290 cm size in particular, the packaging length exceeds 2 meters, so please check your搬入経路 (e.g., elevator, stairs, entrance opening) in advance.

＜Upon Delivery, Please Check Immediately＞
・Before use, please ensure that the product number, color number, and size are correct, and that there is no damage from transportation.
・Please unpack promptly upon delivery. Do not store the product in a sealed condition.
・When unpacking, please be careful not to damage the product with cutters or other sharp objects.
・Do not store the rug vertically or stack it. This may cause creases or deformation.

＜Returns and Exchanges＞
・We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer convenience.
・We cannot accept returns or exchanges for products after they have been used.
・If the delivered product is defective or damaged during transport, please check its condition immediately after unpacking and contact us promptly (no later than 5 days after product arrival).
・Rugs are not manufactured by our company. After you contact us, we will confirm the condition, send the actual product to the manufacturer for inspection, and then discuss whether an exchange or return is possible. The longer the time passes, the more difficult it becomes to determine if the damage occurred during transportation, so please contact us as soon as possible.

＜Before Laying＞
・Before laying the rug, please clean the floor surface.
・After waxing or wet-wiping the floor, please ensure the floor surface is completely dry before laying the rug. Insufficient drying may cause rug marks to remain on the flooring material.
・On slippery floor surfaces such as hardwood, we recommend using commercially available anti-slip sheets. Leaving the rug unfixed may cause it to slip and result in falls.
・Using the rug while it is folded or wrinkled can cause tripping accidents.

＜About Size and Color＞
・Due to the nature of the product, there may be an error of approximately ±3% in the finished dimensions.
・The color and texture of the actual product may differ from the published photos due to differences in monitors of computers and smartphones, as well as shooting conditions.
・The appearance and placement of patterns may vary with each weave. The same pattern may not appear in the exact same position as in the published photos.

＜What Happens with Use＞
・Immediately after delivery, the rug may retain some curl from being rolled. This will gradually settle and disappear after a few weeks of use.
・If heavy objects such as furniture are placed on the rug for a long period, the pile may be crushed and flattened (crushing). This is more likely to occur when strong localized pressure is applied.
・Rugs with cut pile may show partial disruption in the direction of the pile during use, appearing as cloud-like color unevenness (clouding phenomenon). This is a characteristic of cut pile and not a defect in quality.

＜Care and Storage＞
・If a pile (fiber) protrudes, do not pull it forcefully; carefully cut it from the base with scissors.
・When storing, roll the rug into a cylinder to prevent creases and wrinkles, lay it flat, and avoid placing heavy objects on top.

＜Precautions for Use＞
・Using the rug in direct sunlight may cause surface fading and premature deterioration of the backing. Please use curtains or blinds to block sunlight.
・Please note that using rubber covers on furniture legs may react with rug components, causing discoloration or color transfer.
・Localized pressure from table legs, etc., may leave indentations. Rotating the rug occasionally can make these less noticeable.
・When moving heavy furniture like pianos or furniture with casters over the rug, always place plywood or thick cardboard underneath to protect the rug.
・Avoid direct spraying of insecticides, disinfectants, hypochlorous acid, etc., as this may cause discoloration or hardening of the rug. Even when spraying onto a cloth before use, always test on an inconspicuous area first.
