Christian Lacroix was born in Provence, France, in 1951. His designs are heavily influenced by the cultures of Provence and the Gypsies in southern France. After serving as a designer for Hermès, he launched his own brand, "Christian Lacroix," and presented his haute couture collection. This collection received the Dé d'Or award, considered the highest honor in the haute couture world. He later served as director for Emilio Pucci and also designed uniforms for Air France. Currently, Sacha Walckhoff, who was called Lacroix's right-hand man, serves as the brand's designer. He actively produces interior items, leading to the creation of the Christian Lacroix collection, one of Designer Guild's collections.
