Christian Lacroix was born in Provence, France in 1951. His designs are heavily influenced by the Provencal culture and gypsy culture of southern France. After working as a designer for Hermès, he launched his own brand, "Christian Lacroix," and presented a haute couture collection. This collection won the Dé d'Or award, considered the pinnacle of haute couture. He later served as creative director for Emilio Pucci and also designed uniforms for Air France.
Currently, Sacha Walckhoff, who was called Lacroix's right-hand man, serves as the brand's designer. He actively produces interior items, among other things, leading to the creation of the Christian Lacroix Collection, one of Designer's Guild's collections.
