About the Design

This rug features an abstract design with a vintage feel, woven at high density with glossy yarn to create a relief structure. The surface is not flat; instead, the variations in the weave create an uneven texture, causing shadows to change depending on the angle of the light. The same rug will look different under the low light of morning compared to evening lighting. Since it possesses a well-worn texture from the start, it won't look out of place even when paired with new furniture. The pattern's appearance will vary slightly with each weave.

About this color

MANAS rugs do not have color names and are managed by product number. 6616 features a scattered accent of blue-gray and terracotta on an ivory ground. Among the three colors, this one has the most hues, creating a lively expression in bright rooms. The terracotta has a small surface area, so it's not too assertive. Cannon is available in three colors: 6454, 6616, and 7777. Please check the actual colors in the photos.

Choosing Size and Shape

The 160x230cm size is suitable for a living room of about 6 tatami mats, placed in front of a sofa so that the front legs rest on it. For a 2- to 2.5-seater sofa, the short side of the rug will be almost aligned with the width of the sofa, creating a cohesive look. The 200x290cm size is for rooms around 8 tatami mats, or when you want to place both the sofa and a low table within the rug. The 133x195cm size fits in areas where you only want to place a part of the furniture, such as by the bedside, in a study, or in the center of a studio apartment. If using in a dining area, to prevent the back legs of chairs from falling off when pulled out, aim for a size that is the table width plus 80cm on each side. In a bedroom, a good placement is to tuck the short side of the rug under the foot of the bed, with about a third of it extending under the bed.

Materials and Weave

The material is 55% polyester and 45% polypropylene. The pile height is 11mm. This height offers a good balance of comfort underfoot and ease of handling, making it suitable for both living and dining areas. Another advantage is that it's easier to vacuum compared to long-pile rugs. The weave is Wilton weave, a manufacturing method where pile yarns are woven into the base fabric. The pile weight is 3150g/㎡, and a 160x230cm rug weighs approximately 11.6kg. This is a standard density within this collection (2,650-3,300g/㎡). It is flame-retardant and can be used with underfloor heating and hot carpets. The country of origin is Belgium.

<about delivery>
Rugs are not eligible for free shipping. A shipping fee of 5,500 yen will be charged.
Products will be delivered with an instruction manual, wrapped in plastic in a cylindrical shape. Approximate packaging dimensions are as follows: 133×195cm is approximately 15cm in diameter x 145cm in length; 160×230cm is approximately 20cm in diameter x 170cm in length; 200×290cm is approximately 30cm in diameter x 210cm in length (these dimensions may vary slightly depending on the product).
Delivery will be made by Sagawa Express courier service. Delivery is to the curb or front door. Drivers will not carry items inside or set them up.
As products are shipped directly from the manufacturer's warehouse, we cannot accommodate specific delivery dates or times.
We do not deliver to Okinawa Prefecture or some remote islands.
Especially for the 200×290cm size, the package length exceeds 2m, so please check the delivery route (elevator, stairs, entrance opening) in advance.

<please check immediately after delivery>
・Before use, please ensure that the product number, color number, and size are correct, and that there is no damage from transportation.
・Please unbox the product promptly after delivery. Do not store it in a sealed condition.
・When unboxing, please be careful not to damage the product with sharp tools such as cutters.
・Do not store the rug vertically or stacked. This may cause creases or deformation.

<about returns and exchanges>
・We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer's convenience.
・We cannot accept returns or exchanges for products that have been used.
・If there is a defect in the delivered product or damage during transportation, please check the condition immediately after unboxing and contact us promptly (no later than 5 days after product arrival).
・Rugs are not manufactured by our company. After you contact us, we will check the condition, send the actual product to the manufacturer for inspection, and then discuss whether an exchange or return is possible. The longer the time passes, the more difficult it becomes to determine if the damage occurred during transportation, so please contact us as soon as possible.

<before laying>
・When laying a rug, please clean the floor surface beforehand.
・After waxing or wet-wiping the floor, please lay the rug only after the floor surface is completely dry. Insufficient drying may leave rug marks on the flooring material.
・On slippery floor surfaces such as hardwood floors, we recommend using commercially available anti-slip sheets or similar products. Leaving the rug unfixed may cause it to slip and lead to falls.
・Using the rug in a state where it is folded or wrinkled can cause tripping accidents.

<about size and color>
・Due to the nature of the product, there may be an error of approximately ±3% in the finished dimensions.
・The color and texture of the actual product may differ from the photos published due to differences in computer or smartphone monitors viewed by the customer, and also due to shooting conditions.
・The appearance and placement of patterns vary with each weave. The same pattern may not appear in the exact same position as in the published photos.

<what happens with use>
・Immediately after delivery, the rug may retain a curl. This will gradually settle and disappear with a few weeks of use.
・If heavy objects such as furniture are placed on the rug for a long period, the pile may be crushed and flattened (crushing). This is more likely to occur when strong localized pressure is applied.
・Rugs with cut pile may show irregular patterns in the pile's nap direction during use, appearing like cloudy color variations (clouding phenomenon). This is a characteristic of cut pile and is not a defect in quality.

<care and storage>
・If a pile (fiber) protrudes, do not pull it out forcibly. Carefully cut it from the base with scissors.
・When storing, roll the rug into a cylinder and lay it flat to prevent creases and wrinkles. Do not place heavy objects on top of it.

<precautions for use>
・Using the rug in direct sunlight may accelerate surface fading and deterioration of the backing. Please take measures to shade it with curtains or blinds.
・Please note that using rubber covers or similar items on furniture legs may react with the rug's components, causing discoloration or color transfer.
・Localized pressure, such as from table legs, may leave indentations (dents). Rotating the rug occasionally can make these less noticeable.
・When moving heavy furniture with casters or pianos over the rug, always place plywood or thick cardboard underneath to protect the rug.
・Avoid direct spraying of insecticides, disinfectants, hypochlorous acid, etc., as this may cause discoloration or hardening of the rug. Even when using these by spraying them onto a cloth, always test on an inconspicuous area first.
