About the Design

This simple rug features a textured, wool-like, warm feel. The nuanced expression created by the fine weave adds a soft depth to the space. It doesn't have a discernible pattern; you only notice the weave up close. This allows it to complement furniture and lighting without overpowering them, letting you change the texture of the floor itself. The name "Sol" means "soil," "ground," or "surface" in French. Its understated design naturally harmonizes with various interiors.

About This Color

MANAS rugs do not have color names and are managed by product numbers. 7696 is a solid gray. It is the only achromatic color out of the four, ideal when you want to change only the texture without adding color. Sol is available in four colors: 6575, 7565, 7696, and 8283. Please refer to the photos for the actual color.

Choosing Size and Shape

A 160 x 230 cm rug is suitable for a living room of approximately 6 tatami mats, placed in front of a sofa with the front legs on the rug. For a 2 to 2.5-seater sofa, the short side of the rug will be almost aligned with the sofa width, creating a cohesive look. A 200 x 290 cm rug is for a room of approximately 8 tatami mats, or when you want to place both the sofa and a low table within the rug. If using it in a dining room, ensure the back legs of the chairs do not fall off when pulled out; a good guideline is the table width plus 80 cm on each side. In a bedroom, you can place the short side of the rug at the foot of the bed, with about one-third of the rug extending under the bed.

Material and Weave

The material is 100% polypropylene. The pile height is 11mm, offering a good balance of comfort underfoot and ease of handling, making it suitable for both living rooms and dining rooms. Another advantage is that it's easier to vacuum compared to high-pile rugs. The weave is Wilton weave, a method where pile yarns are woven into the base fabric. The pile weight is 3050 g/㎡, and a 160 x 230 cm rug weighs approximately 11.2 kg. This is a standard density within this collection (2,650-3,300 g/㎡). It is flame-retardant and can be used with floor heating and hot carpets. The country of origin is Belgium.

<about delivery>
Rugs are not eligible for free shipping. A shipping fee of 5,500 yen will be charged.
Products will be delivered with an instruction manual, wrapped in plastic in a cylindrical shape. Approximate packaging sizes are: 133 x 195 cm will be approximately 15 cm in diameter x 145 cm in length; 160 x 230 cm will be approximately 20 cm in diameter x 170 cm in length; 200 x 290 cm will be approximately 30 cm in diameter x 210 cm in length (may vary slightly depending on the product).
Delivery will be made by Sagawa Express courier service. Delivery will be to the curb or at the entrance. The driver will not carry the item inside or install it.
Since products are shipped directly from the manufacturer's warehouse, we cannot accommodate specific delivery dates or times.
We do not deliver to Okinawa Prefecture or some remote islands.
Especially for the 200 x 290 cm size, the package length exceeds 2 meters, so please check your搬入経路 (delivery route) (elevator, stairs, entrance width) in advance.

<please check immediately after delivery>
・Before use, please check the product number, color number, and size to ensure there are no mistakes, and that there is no damage from transportation.
・Please unpack promptly after delivery. Do not store it in a sealed state.
・When unpacking, please be careful not to damage the product with sharp objects such as cutters.
・Do not store upright or stack. This may cause creases or deformation.

<about returns and exchanges>
・We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer's convenience.
・We cannot accept returns or exchanges for products that have been used.
・If the delivered product is defective or damaged during transportation, please check its condition immediately after unpacking and contact us promptly (no later than 5 days after product arrival).
・Rugs are not manufactured by our company. After receiving your contact, we will check the condition, send the actual product to the manufacturer for inspection, and then discuss the possibility of exchange or return. The longer the time passes, the more difficult it becomes to determine if the damage was due to transportation, so please contact us as soon as possible.

<before laying>
・When laying a rug, please clean the floor surface beforehand.
・After waxing or wet-wiping the floor, please lay the rug only after the floor surface is completely dry. Insufficient drying may leave rug marks on the flooring material.
・On slippery floor surfaces such as flooring, we recommend using commercially available anti-slip sheets or similar products. Leaving the rug unfixed may cause it to slip and result in a fall.
・Using the rug in a state with folds or wrinkles may cause tripping and other fall accidents.

<about size and color>
・Due to the nature of the product, there may be an error of approximately ±3% in the finished dimensions.
・The color and texture of the actual product may differ from the published photos due to differences in computer or smartphone monitors viewed by the customer, and also due to shooting conditions.
・The appearance and placement of patterns vary with each weave. The same pattern may not appear in the same position as shown in the published photos.

<what happens with use>
・Immediately after delivery, the rug may retain a curling habit. It will gradually settle and disappear with a few weeks of use.
・If heavy objects such as furniture are placed on the rug for a long period, the pile may be crushed and flattened (crushing). This is more likely to occur when localized heavy loads are applied.
・Rugs using cut pile may show partial disorder in the pile's nap direction during use, appearing as cloud-like color unevenness (clouding phenomenon). This is a characteristic of cut pile and is not a product defect.

<care and storage>
・If a pile (fiber) sticks out, do not pull it out forcibly. Carefully cut it from the base with scissors.
・When storing, roll it into a cylinder to prevent creases and wrinkles, lay it flat, and avoid placing heavy objects on top of it.

<precautions for use>
・Using the rug in direct sunlight may accelerate surface fading and deterioration of the backing. Please take sun protection measures with curtains or blinds.
・Please note that using rubber covers or similar items on furniture legs may react with rug components and cause discoloration or color transfer.
・Localized loads, such as table legs, may leave pressure marks (indentations). Rotating the rug occasionally will make them less noticeable.
・When moving pianos or heavy furniture with casters on the rug, always place plywood or thick cardboard underneath to protect the rug before moving.
・Avoid direct spraying of insecticides, disinfectants, hypochlorous acid, etc., as this may cause discoloration or hardening of the rug. If you use them after spraying onto a cloth, always test on an inconspicuous area beforehand.
