About the Design

This abstract art rug reinterprets the aesthetics of calligraphy in a modern way. The contrast between ink-like black and softly spreading grays and beiges creates the impression of actual brushstrokes. Sharp, yet sometimes bleeding lines create a rhythm of stillness and movement, adding depth to the space. With a design that evokes Japanese calligraphy intersecting with European abstraction, this collection features the strongest contrast and is designed to be the focal point of a room. The pattern will vary slightly with each weave.

About this Color

MANAS rugs do not have color names and are managed by product number. 9293 features an ink-like black and a contrast of soft gray and beige. This has the greatest difference in light and dark within this collection, making it the focal point of any room. It is suitable for spaces where walls and furniture are kept plain. Please check the photos for the actual color.

How to Choose Size and Shape

A 160x230cm rug is suitable for a living room of about 6 tatami mats, placed in front of a sofa so that its front legs rest on the rug. For a 2 to 2.5-seater sofa, the short side of the rug will be almost aligned with the sofa's width, creating a cohesive look. A 200x290cm rug is suitable for a room of about 8 tatami mats, or if you want to place both the sofa and a coffee table entirely on the rug. When used in a dining room, to ensure that the back legs of chairs do not fall off when pulled out, use the table width plus 80cm on each side as a guide. In a bedroom, a good way to lay the rug is to slide the short side under the foot of the bed, with about a third of the rug placed under the bed.

Material and Weave

The material is 100% polypropylene. The pile height is 11mm. This height offers a good balance between comfort underfoot and ease of handling, making it suitable for both living rooms and dining rooms. Another advantage is that it's easier to vacuum compared to long-pile rugs. It's a Wilton weave, a method where pile yarns are woven into the base fabric. The pile weight is 3050g/㎡, with a 160x230cm rug weighing approximately 11.2kg. This is a standard density within this collection (2,650-3,300g/㎡). It is fire-retardant and can be used over floor heating and hot carpets. The country of origin is Belgium.

＜Delivery＞
Rugs are not eligible for free shipping. A shipping fee of 5,500 yen will be charged.
Products will be delivered with the instruction manual included, wrapped in vinyl in a cylindrical shape. The approximate packaging dimensions are: 133 x 195 cm will be approximately 15 cm in diameter x 145 cm in length; 160 x 230 cm will be approximately 20 cm in diameter x 170 cm in length; and 200 x 290 cm will be approximately 30 cm in diameter x 210 cm in length (slight variations may occur depending on the product).
Delivery will be made by Sagawa Express courier service. Delivery will be to the doorstep or entrance. Drivers will not carry items into the room or install them.
As products are shipped directly from the manufacturer's warehouse, we cannot accommodate specific delivery dates or times.
We do not deliver to Okinawa Prefecture or some remote islands.
For the 200 x 290 cm size in particular, the package length exceeds 2 meters, so please check your搬入経路 (e.g., elevator, stairs, entryway width) in advance.

＜Please check immediately after delivery＞
・Before use, please ensure that the product number, color number, and size are correct, and that there is no damage from transit.
・Please unpack the product promptly after delivery. Do not store it in a sealed state.
・When unpacking, please be careful not to damage the product with sharp objects like cutters.
・Do not store the rug vertically or stacked, as this may cause creases or deformation.

＜Returns and Exchanges＞
・We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer convenience.
・We cannot accept returns or exchanges for products after they have been used.
・If the delivered product is defective or damaged during transit, please check its condition immediately after unpacking and contact us promptly (no later than 5 days after product arrival).
・Rugs are not manufactured by our company. After you contact us, we will confirm the condition, send the actual item to the manufacturer for inspection, and then discuss whether an exchange or return is possible. It becomes more difficult to determine if damage occurred during transit as more time passes, so please contact us as soon as possible.

＜Before laying＞
・Before laying the rug, please clean the floor surface.
・After waxing or wet-wiping the floor, please ensure the floor surface is completely dry before laying the rug. Inadequate drying may cause rug marks to remain on the flooring material.
・On slippery floor surfaces such as hardwood, we recommend using a commercially available non-slip sheet or similar product. If left unsecured, the rug may slip and cause falls.
・Using the rug in a creased or wrinkled state can cause tripping accidents.

＜About Size and Color＞
・Due to the nature of the product, there may be a ±3% error in the finished dimensions.
・The color and texture of the actual product may differ from the published photos due to differences in computer or smartphone monitors viewed by the customer, as well as shooting conditions.
・The appearance and placement of patterns vary with each weave. The same pattern may not appear in the same position as in the published photos.

＜What to expect with use＞
・Immediately after delivery, the rug may retain a curl from being rolled. This will gradually settle and disappear with a few weeks of use.
・If heavy objects such as furniture are placed on the rug for a long period, the pile may be crushed and flattened (crushing). This is more likely to occur under localized heavy loads.
・Rugs with cut piles may show partial disruption in the direction of the pile during use, appearing as cloud-like color unevenness (clouding phenomenon). This is a characteristic of cut pile and not a defect in quality.

＜Care and Storage＞
・If a pile (fiber) pops out, do not pull it forcefully; carefully cut it from the base with scissors.
・When storing, roll the rug into a cylinder to prevent creases and wrinkles, lay it flat, and avoid placing heavy objects on top of it.

＜Precautions for Use＞
・Using the rug in direct sunlight may accelerate surface fading and deterioration of the backing. Please use curtains or blinds for sun protection.
・Using rubber covers on furniture legs may cause discoloration or color transfer due to a reaction with rug components, so please be careful.
・Localized pressure from table legs or similar items may leave indentations. Rotating the rug occasionally can make these less noticeable.
・When moving heavy furniture like pianos or items with casters over the rug, always place plywood or thick cardboard underneath to protect the rug.
・Direct application of insecticides, disinfectants, hypochlorous acid, etc., may cause discoloration or hardening of the rug, so please refrain from doing so. Even when spraying onto a cloth before use, always test on an inconspicuous area first.
