About the Design

This rug features a striking asymmetrical gradation that spreads like rising smoke. The delicate colors create an expression that changes depending on the viewing angle and lighting, adding a subtle accent to the space. Since it is not symmetrical, simply changing the direction you lay it can alter the appearance of the room. In addition to rectangular shapes, we also offer pebble shapes with organic outlines. The pattern will vary with each weave.

About This Color

MANAS rugs do not have color names and are managed by product number. 9332 is an achromatic color scheme of gray and ivory. It is the quietest of the three colors and is easy to match with any flooring. Shemini is available in three colors: 6727, 6747, and 9332. Please check the photos for the actual colors.

How to Choose Size and Shape

A 160 x 230 cm rug is suitable for a living room of about 6 tatami mats, placed in front of a sofa with its front legs on the rug. For a 2- to 2.5-seater sofa, the short side of the rug will be almost flush with the sofa width, creating a cohesive look. A 200 x 290 cm rug is suitable for a room of about 8 tatami mats, or when you want to place both the sofa and a low table inside the rug. A 133 x 195 cm rug fits in places where you want to place only a part of the furniture, such as beside a bed, in a study, or in the center of a studio apartment. Pebble shapes have organic outlines and do not need to align with walls or furniture lines. In rooms that are close to square, or where furniture is not placed against a wall, a pebble shape may fit better than a rectangular one. Sizes are 160 x 230 cm / 200 x 290 cm. If you are using it in a dining room, as a guide, choose a size that is the table width plus 80 cm on each side, so that the back legs of the chairs do not fall off when pulled out. In a bedroom, a good way to lay it is to tuck the short side of the rug under the foot of the bed, placing about one-third of it under the bed.

Material and Weave

The material is 100% polypropylene. The pile height is 25mm. It is thick and has a feel that allows you to sit directly on the floor. It is more suitable for relaxing areas like in front of a sofa or beside a bed, rather than areas where dining chairs are frequently moved. When vacuuming, please use a low suction setting. The weave is Wilton weave, a method of weaving pile yarns into the base fabric. The pile weight is 3200g/㎡, and a 160 x 230 cm rug weighs approximately 11.8kg. Among this collection (2,650-3,300g/㎡), it is considered dense and offers a good springy feel when stepped on. It is flame-retardant and can be used on floor heating and hot carpets. The country of origin is Belgium.

＜Delivery Information＞
Rugs are not eligible for free shipping. A shipping fee of 5,500 yen will be charged.
Products are delivered with instructions and wrapped in plastic in a cylindrical shape. Approximate packaging dimensions are as follows: 133 x 195 cm is approx. 15 cm in diameter x 145 cm in length; 160 x 230 cm is approx. 20 cm in diameter x 170 cm in length; 200 x 290 cm is approx. 30 cm in diameter x 210 cm in length (dimensions may vary slightly depending on the product). Pebble shapes have the same packaging dimensions as rectangular rugs of the same size.
Delivery will be made by Sagawa Express courier service. Delivery will be to the curb or entrance. Drivers will not carry items indoors or install them.
As products are shipped directly from the manufacturer's warehouse, we cannot accommodate specific delivery dates or times.
We do not deliver to Okinawa Prefecture or some remote islands.
Especially for the 200 x 290 cm size, the package length exceeds 2 meters, so please check your搬入経路 (e.g., elevator, stairs, doorway width) in advance.

＜Upon Delivery, Please Check Immediately＞
・Before use, please ensure that the product number, color number, and size are correct, and that there is no damage from transportation.
・Please unpack the product promptly after delivery. Do not store it in a sealed state.
・When unpacking, please be careful not to damage the product with cutters or other sharp objects.
・Do not store the rug vertically or stacked. This may cause creases or deformation.

＜Returns and Exchanges＞
・We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer preferences.
・We cannot accept returns or exchanges for products after they have been used.
・If the delivered product is defective or damaged during transportation, please check its condition immediately after unpacking and contact us promptly (no later than 5 days after product arrival).
・Rugs are not manufactured by our company. After you contact us, we will confirm the condition, send the actual product to the manufacturer for inspection, and then discuss whether an exchange or refund is possible. It becomes more difficult to determine if damage occurred during transportation as time passes, so please contact us as soon as possible.

＜Before Laying the Rug＞
・When laying the rug, please clean the floor surface beforehand.
・After waxing or wet-wiping the floor, please wait until the floor surface is completely dry before laying the rug. If the floor is not sufficiently dry, rug marks may be left on the flooring material.
・On slippery floor surfaces such as flooring, we recommend using commercially available non-slip sheets or similar products. If the rug is simply laid down, it may slip and cause a fall.
・Using the rug in a folded or wrinkled state can cause tripping and falling accidents.

＜About Size and Color＞
・Due to the nature of the product, there may be an error of approximately ±3% in the finished dimensions.
・The color and texture of the actual product may differ from the published photos due to differences in computer or smartphone monitors viewed by the customer, and also due to shooting conditions.
・The pattern's appearance and how it is displayed vary with each weaving. The same pattern may not appear in the same position as in the published photos.

＜What Happens with Use＞
・Immediately after delivery, the rug may retain a curled shape from being rolled. This will gradually settle and disappear with a few weeks of use.
・If heavy objects such as furniture are placed on the rug for a long period, the pile may be crushed and flattened (crushing). This is more likely to occur when localized strong pressure is applied.
・Rugs with cut pile may show unevenness in the direction of the pile during use, appearing like cloudy color variations (clouding phenomenon). This is a characteristic unique to cut pile and is not a quality defect.

＜Care and Storage＞
・If the pile (fiber) protrudes, do not pull it forcefully; carefully cut it from the base with scissors.
・When storing, roll the rug into a cylinder to prevent creases and wrinkles, lay it flat, and avoid placing heavy objects on top of it.

＜Precautions for Use＞
・Using the product in direct sunlight can accelerate surface fading and deterioration of the backing. Please take measures to shade it with curtains or blinds.
・Please be aware that using rubber covers or similar items on furniture legs may react with rug components, causing discoloration or color transfer.
・Localized pressure, such as from table legs, may leave indentations. Rotating the rug occasionally will make them less noticeable.
・When moving heavy furniture like pianos or furniture with casters over the rug, always place plywood or thick cardboard underneath to protect the rug before moving it.
・Direct application of insecticides, disinfectants, hypochlorous acid, etc., may cause discoloration or hardening of the rug, so please refrain from doing so. If you spray it on a cloth before use, always test it on an inconspicuous area first.
