The origin of functional beauty, designed by Alvar Aalto. The NIKARI 〈ALVAR TRAY〉 is the oldest piece in NIKARI's collection, a company that has provided furniture for Aalto's projects for many years.
Product Features
It was designed by Alvar Aalto himself. NIKARI collaborated with Aalto's architectural office from 1967 to 1974, producing furniture for his projects.
This original tray was designed in the 1960s for Lakeuden Risti in Seinäjoki, which Aalto worked on, and trays from that time are still in use there today. In tribute to their collaboration, it was released as a general product in 2015.
It features white melamine laminate and a natural oil-finished birch frame. Its simple, functional, and timeless design is reminiscent of Aalto's tea trolley.
NIKARI's "ARTE" collection is a range of products developed for special projects such as architectural biennials, cultural saunas, and art galleries. The ALVAR Tray is counted among them.
