Product Features
We use premium-grade sheepskin, the highest rank, from AUSKIN, known as a world-leading manufacturer. It boasts superior density, luster, and a pleasant feel and texture. Even though high density usually leads to more crimp (curls), we carefully select those with a beautiful appearance.
The design features the word "LOVE" in white sheepskin on a black base. Japanese artisans use their high-level skills to achieve a natural, seamless look, ensuring no unevenness even when combining different pelts. Comfortable in all seasons, sheepskin is nature's air conditioner
The characteristic of sheepskin material is that it feels dry in summer and warm in winter. Natural sheep wool has the same composition as human hair, and each strand is covered with scale-like cuticles. These cuticles absorb a large amount of moisture (about twice as much as cotton) and release it, always keeping it dry and comfortable. In addition, the dense wool traps a large amount of air, providing excellent insulation. It's very warm in winter and cool in summer, maintaining a comfortable temperature all year round, making it suitable for use in all seasons.
Features of Sheepskin
●Moisture Absorption and Release
The excellence of sheepskin is said to lie in its moisture absorption. It boasts an incredible ability to absorb approximately 15% of its own weight in moisture. Furthermore, it absorbs moisture deep into the fibers, so the surface always remains dry. The scale-like layers on the surface of the fibers also absorb and release moisture according to the external humidity.
●Elasticity
When magnified, sheepskin wool shows waves in its fibers, which twist like coil springs. This is the secret to sheepskin's elasticity. Experiments have shown that a single strand of wool can stretch and contract by 30%. When countless such points are combined, this restorative power works even more strongly, providing a fluffy and appropriate cushion.
●Insulation
Sheepskin has 3,000 to 5,000 wool fibers per square centimeter. These fibers have extremely low thermal conductivity, cutting off outside air. Additionally, the countless air pockets between the curled and intricately intertwined fibers enhance its insulating effect.
●Repels Water Droplets and Dirt
The water-repellent, scale-like cuticle covering instantly repels water droplets and dirt, preventing them from penetrating between the fibers.
●Resistant to Spreading Flames
As an animal fiber, there is no concern that fire will spread quickly compared to synthetic fibers.
