About the Design

This is a simple rug with a textured feel, finished with a wool-like warmth. The nuanced expression created by the fine weave brings a soft depth to the space. There are no patterns that could be called designs; the weave is only visible up close. This allows it to be used to change the texture of the floor itself, without interfering with the shapes of furniture or lighting. The name Sol means earth, ground, or surface in French. Its understated design harmonizes naturally with various interiors.

About This Color

MANAS rugs do not have color names and are managed by product number. 6575 is a solid color ranging from beige to greige. It is an intermediate color among the four, working well with both wood and white floors. The weave is fine, and the surface appears to shift when viewed up close. Sol is available in four colors: 6575, 7565, 7696, and 8283. Please confirm the actual color in the photos.

How to Choose Size and Shape

160 x 230 cm is the dimension for placing in front of a sofa in a living room of about 6 tatami mats, where the front legs of the sofa will rest on it. For a 2 to 2.5-seater sofa, the short side of the rug will be almost aligned with the width of the sofa, creating a cohesive look. 200 x 290 cm is for rooms of about 8 tatami mats, or when you want to place both the sofa and a low table within the rug. When using it in the dining room, to prevent the rear legs of chairs from falling off when pulled out, use the table width plus 80 cm on each side as a guide. In the bedroom, a layout where the short side of the rug is tucked under the foot of the bed, with about one-third of it under the bed, works well.

Material and Weave

The material is 100% polypropylene. The pile height is 11mm. This height offers a good balance of comfort and ease of handling, making it suitable for both living and dining rooms. Another advantage is that it is easier to vacuum compared to long-pile rugs. The weave is Wilton. This is a method where pile yarns are woven into the base fabric. The pile weight is 3050g/㎡, and a 160 x 230 cm rug weighs approximately 11.2 kg. This is a standard density within this collection (2,650-3,300g/㎡). It is flame-retardant and can be used with floor heating and hot carpets. The country of origin is Belgium.

Rugs are not eligible for free shipping. A shipping fee of 5,500 yen will be charged.
Products will be delivered with an instruction manual,ビニール-wrapped in a cylindrical shape. Approximate packing sizes are: 133x195cm is approx. 15cm diameter x 145cm length; 160x230cm is approx. 20cm diameter x 170cm length; 200x290cm is approx. 30cm diameter x 210cm length (may vary slightly depending on the product).
Delivery is by Sagawa Express courier service. Delivery will be to the doorstep or entrance. Drivers will not carry items inside the room or install them.
Since products are shipped directly from the manufacturer's warehouse, we cannot accept requests for specific delivery dates or times.
Delivery to Okinawa Prefecture and some remote islands is not available.
Especially for the 200x290cm size, the package length exceeds 2m, so please check the搬入経路 (elevator, stairs, entrance opening) in advance.

<please check immediately after delivery>
・Before use, please check that the product number, color number, and size are correct, and that there is no damage during transportation.
・Please unpack the product promptly after delivery. Do not store it in a sealed state.
・When unpacking, please be careful not to damage the product with cutters or other sharp objects.
・Do not store upright or stacked. This may cause creases or deformation.

<returns and exchanges>
・We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer convenience.
・We cannot accept returns or exchanges for products after use.
・If the delivered product is defective or damaged during transportation, please check the condition immediately after unpacking and contact us promptly (no later than 5 days after product arrival).
・Rugs are not products manufactured by our company. After we receive your contact, we will check the condition, send the actual product to the manufacturer for inspection, and then discuss the possibility of exchange or return. As time passes, it becomes more difficult to determine if the damage occurred during transportation, so please contact us as soon as possible.

<before laying>
・When laying a rug, please clean the floor surface beforehand.
・After waxing or wet cleaning the floor, please lay the rug only after the floor surface is completely dry. Insufficient drying may cause marks from the rug to remain on the flooring material.
・On slippery floor surfaces such as flooring, we recommend using commercially available anti-slip sheets or similar products. Leaving the rug simply laid down may cause it to slip and lead to falls.
・Using the rug while it is creased or wrinkled may cause tripping accidents.

<about size and color>
・Due to the nature of the product, there may be an error of approximately ±3% in the finished dimensions.
・The color and texture of the actual product may differ from the published photos due to differences in the monitors of the computer or smartphone you are viewing, and due to shooting conditions.
・The pattern's appearance and how it looks vary with each weaving. The same pattern may not appear in the same position as in the published photos.

<what happens with use>
・Immediately after delivery, some curling may remain. It will gradually settle and disappear with a few weeks of use.
・If heavy objects such as furniture are placed on the rug for a long period, the pile may be crushed and flattened (crushing). This tends to occur when localized strong pressure is applied.
・Rugs with cut pile may show partial unevenness in the direction of the pile's nap during use, appearing as cloud-like color variations (clouding phenomenon). This is a characteristic of cut pile and is not a quality defect.

<care and storage>
・If pile (fibers) protrude, do not pull them out forcefully. Carefully cut them at the base with scissors.
・When storing, to prevent creases and wrinkles, roll the rug into a cylindrical shape and lay it flat in a horizontal position, avoiding placing heavy objects on top.

<precautions for use>
・Using the product in direct sunlight may accelerate surface fading and deterioration of the backing. Please use curtains or blinds to block direct sunlight.
・Using rubber covers on furniture legs may react with rug components and cause discoloration or color transfer, so please be careful.
・Localized pressure from table legs or similar items may leave indentations. Rotating the rug occasionally will make these less noticeable.
・When moving heavy furniture with casters or pianos over the rug, always place plywood or thick cardboard underneath to protect the rug during movement.
・Avoid direct spraying of insecticides, disinfectants, hypochlorous acid, etc., as this may cause discoloration or hardening of the rug. If you need to spray it on a cloth before use, always test it on an inconspicuous area first.
