Christian Lacroix was born in Provence, France, in 1951. His designs are heavily influenced by the Provençal and Gypsy cultures of southern France. After working as a designer for Hermès, he launched his own brand, "Christian Lacroix," and presented his haute couture collection. This collection received the Dé d'Or award, considered the highest honor in haute couture. He later served as director for Emilio Pucci and also designed uniforms for Air France. Currently, Sacha Walckhoff, who was considered Lacroix's right-hand man, serves as the brand's designer. He actively produces interior items, and the Christian Lacroix Collection, one of the Designer's Guild collections, was born.
