About Lintunen

Lintunen is a term of endearment for a bird. In Finnish, "Lintu" means "bird," and adding "-nen" gives it a familiar, affectionate sound, like "little bird" in English.

"To me, birds are also a symbol of great freedom, being able to go anywhere. This motif is of a bird dreaming in a flower-scented garden. I believe that in these times, we need positive and happy dreams to keep living with hope. Birds are one of my main motifs, combined with a floral frame representing a garden. They can be connected to the roots of all the designs I have created so far."

For Heini, designing interior textiles was also a dream. With such dreams and hopes, this work is meant to fly off on its own and bring joy to everyone.

【Handling Precautions】

● About Neps
"Neps" are knots in the yarn that appear on the surface when linen fibers intertwine.
If neps are noticeable, you can push them to the back of the fabric with a pointed object to make them less visible.
As shown in the product photos, the ink color may be partially missing due to neps.
There may be slight variations in the appearance of neps and fibers, but please enjoy them as part of the rustic charm of linen fabric.
Fabrics with the above conditions are considered normal and good quality products, and returns and exchanges will not be accepted. Please be aware of this.

● When washing, please use a neutral detergent and a laundry net, or wash gently by hand.
● To prevent color bleeding, please wash separately from other items.
● After washing, do not leave it, reshape it immediately, and hang it to dry.
● Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause discoloration.
● Avoid tumble drying and using bleach.
● When ironing, avoid high temperatures and use a pressing cloth.
● For light stains, gently rub with a white eraser or dab with a towel firmly wrung out after being soaked in a mixture of neutral detergent and water. (Please remove the inner cushion at this time.)
● If left wet from rain, snow, or sweat, color transfer may occur. If it gets wet, please remove the inner cushion (to reduce fabric overlap) and air dry in the shade.
● To minimize color fading and stains, we recommend lightly spraying with a fabric waterproofing spray before use.
● The printed area may transfer or fade due to friction. Please be especially careful when wet.
● This product may have yarn joints or slight fraying during the weaving process by machine, but this is not a quality issue.
● Avoid long-term storage in high-humidity areas, as this may cause mold.

Heini Riitahuhta

Graduated from the University of Art and Design Helsinki in 2002, having studied ceramics and glass design. She gained attention while still a student, winning the Gold Prize in the Ceramics Division at the International Ceramics Festival Mino in the same year of her graduation. Her graduation project, "Helmi" (oil lamp), was selected for the gift collection of ARABIA, a leading Finnish ceramics manufacturer, and she was employed as a designer. Her representative work includes ARABIA's RUNO series. Inspired by Finnish nature motifs and traditional crafts, her works are characterized by bold lines and original color usage, often highly decorative, and she has created works for many projects in Japan. Currently, she belongs to the ARABIA ART DEPARTMENT, a goal for many ceramists worldwide, and is active as a pattern designer and ceramic artist.
