About this fabric

100% cotton. The fabric is woven in France, and the printing is done in Varese, Italy.

The pattern is based on "indiennes," chintz that traveled from India to Europe in the 18th century. It was so enthusiastically received in Europe that its import and manufacture were temporarily banned in France to protect its domestic textile industry.

This fabric is originally intended for curtains and upholstery. Our store procures this fabric and sews it into cushions in Japan. With a cushion, you can enjoy this range of colors and intricate details up close.
